DIAMONDS IN THE NEW DECADE

INVITATION-ONLY CENTURION SHOW IN PHOENIX SET TO OPEN ARIZONA’S ANNUAL GEM SHOW FORTNIGHT

 

As it does it each year, through the end of January and the first two weeks of February the Arizona desert will attract gemstone and jewelry buyers from around the world. They are drawn into the western U.S. state not only by the generally sunny winter weather, but also by a series of trade shows, ranging from high-end events to displays literally arranged on the backs of trucks.

Much of the activity is centered in Tucson, located in the south of the western state, but for 19 years arguably one of the most prestigious events has takes place immediately prior, in Phoenix, about 170 kilometers to the north – the Centurion Show.

Featuring more than 150 high-end exhibitors, the invitation-only event traditionally has gathered in one place a sampling of buyers many of the more important retail outlets in the United States. Among the exhibitors is MID House of Diamonds.

Taking place from Tuesday, January 28, through Saturday, February 1, this year the show moves back to the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, just 20 minutes north of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. 

The dates themselves are significant, for Centurion will end four days before the start of the AGTA Gem Show in Tucson, allowing visitors to attend both events.

INTIMATE ATMOSPHERE AT INVITATION-ONLY SHOW

Unlike most of the Tucson shows, which focus strongly on loose colored gemstones and colored gemstone-set jewelry Centurion, covers the full gamut of the industry, with diamonds prominently on display.

It is unlike many other jewelry shows, with an emphasis on intimacy and an atmosphere designed to encouraged interaction among the limited group of buyers gaining access to the show.

“It kicks off the Spring season and helps set our agenda for the spring months,” a prominent diamond jewelry manufacturer, speaking last year to Centurion’s self-produced electronic newsletter. 

 “While we certainly write orders at the show, there are clients we visit with who are not quite ready to write business but definitely want to see us in their stores. Those meetings are set up at Centurion.”

MID TO EXHIBIT AT CENTURION, JANUARY 28-FEBRUARY 1

MID House of Diamonds will present a massive display of merchandise at the 2020 Centurion Show. The company’s will be exhibiting the Grand Sonoran Ballroom in Booth 413.

 The MID booth will feature a more than 10,000 white and fancy-colored loose diamonds, including blue, pink, green and yellow, in all shapes and sizes from 0.30 carats to plus-10.00 carats. 

All eight of the company’s international sales offices will be sending much of their top-quality material, among them a selection of rare GIA certified loose diamonds.

Visitors to the Centurion Show  are invited to discover what MID is offering by way of the company’s MID HOUSE OF DIAMONDS app. Designed for smartphones and tablet computers using the Apple IOS and Android operating systems, it has been created especially to meet the needs of the professional diamond trader, tapping into the massive global inventory of merchandise of one of the world’s largest diamond suppliers.
